Description

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 275 x 135 mm, two fragmentary four-line musical staves ruled in red ink and three fragmentary lines ruled in black ink on reverse.

CONTENTS: The initial would have opened the invitatory for Matins on Palm Sunday, small fragments from which survive on the reverse, [Ipsi vero non cognoverunt] vias [meas. Quibus] iura[vi in ira mea si] in[troibunt in requiem meam].

DECORATION: Historiated initial in grey-blue or pink with stylized acanthus, terminating in beasts’ heads, on blue ground with delicate white scrolling ornament and white dots: [I, 3 ll.] Entry into Jerusalem.
