Description

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 207 x 130 mm, inset in modern vellum, two and a half fragmentary four-line musical staves ruled in red ink and fragmentary words on three lines ruled in brown ink on reverse.

CONTENTS: On reverse, versicle for the first lesson at Matins for the dedication of a church, F[undata est] domus domi[ni super verti]cem montium [et exaltata est super omnes colles et venient ad eam omnes gentes]; the initial would have introduced the responsory to the first lesson at Matins for the dedication of a church, In dedicatione templi decantabat populus laudem

DECORATION: Historiated initial [I] showing a group of saints, including St Peter with a book and a key.

ORNAMENTATION: Red penwork initial [F, 1 ll.] with reserved ornament and blue pen flourishing on reverse.
