Description

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 142 x 151 mm, two four-line musical staves ruled in red ink and two lines of fragmentary text ruled in plummet.

CONTENTS: On reverse, antiphon to the Magnificat at First Vespers for the Common of Martyrs in the Easter season, [Lux perp]etua lucebit [sanctis tuis domine alleluia et e]ternitas tempo[rum]; the initial B would have introduced the responsory to the first lesson at Matins for the Common of Martyrs in the Easter season, Beatus vir qui metuit dominum.

DECORATION: Historiated initial in pink, grey and beige, which extends into medallions with pseudo-cufic script: [B] Half-length image of a prophet or saint, holding a scroll with intended Hebrew script.

History note: ‘No 10’ written in pencil on verso; ‘134’ written in black ink on the reverse
