Description

Bone china, decorated in red enamel with zig-zag borders, stylized plants, gold spots and trefoil leaves

Bone china painted in red enamel and gilt. The cylindrical cup has a small ear-shaped handle. The circular saucer has deep curved sides and a recessed base. The upper part of the cup has a wide border comprising a gold zig-zag line with red enamel in the spaces below overlaid by a gold motifs resembling a dolphin or a plant, and above white spaces with gold plants with two leaves and a flower. Below there is a horizontal gold band and a narrower gold band.The lower part of the sides is semé with alternate trefoil leaves and spots. There is a gold band round the rim and the lower edge, and the back of the handle has a long gold stroke and tiny dots of graduated size. The interior of the saucer is decorated en suite.
