Verge watch in gold consular case.
MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Verneaux A PARIS NO. 1604' Balance bridge pierced and engraved, pattern includes 'V', 'E' and 'R', polished steel coquette. Brass balance. Silver regulator dial, radial Arabic numbers 1 to 7 with 'A' and 'R' at ends. Engraved cock for fusee pivot. Engraved top of counter-potance. Back plate has square hole for balance with engraved corners and curved line along sides. Turned fusee iron post. Adjustable potance. Counter potance with adjustment screw and polished steel end plate. Polished steel case bolt, with conical end, sliding in pillar plate, nib under dial. Pillar plate with four turned pillars, sunk centre wheel. Third wheel bar with double cock for pivots under dial. Dial side with central recess, scratched 'L. E. Coutlemond'. Fusee and chain, set up click under dial. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise.

DIAL: White enamel on copper with gilt edge. Radial Arabic quarters outside ladder minute ring with dots at 5 mins., radial Roman chapters, inner ring. Winding hole, with gold bush, at 2 o'clock.

HANDS: Polished gold, heart end.

CASE: Gold consular body, bezel and body edge chased with symmetrical designs, back with ring of blue translucent enamel over enging-turning, gold stars in enamel and engine turning under, inside and outside enamel ring, with ring of small white enamel blobs, centre of chased flowers. Inside back stamped with Paris charge and discharge marks of sous-fermier Jean-Baptise Fouche and Wardens mark for 1777, makers stamp of a 6 petal flower over 'JA' over 'A' in fitting recess. Pendant stamped with discharge mark of sous-fermier Julien Alaterre. Body edge scratched '364 sx/sx/-'. Back fits into groove in body
