Verge watch in four coloured gold case.
MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Josh Roberts London 704'. Balance cock with engraved parallel sided table, mask at neck, foot engraved. Flat polished steel balance. Slide ring engraved with wavy pattern, inside balance, brass pointer. Regulation scale engraved on plate with 'S' and 'F' at ends. Turned fusee iron post. Polished steel case bolt in slot in plate, nib under dial. Potance with moulding at end of foot, screwed to plate. Rectangular counter potance riveted to plate. Pillar plate with four turned pillars, centre wheel sink, third wheel bridge. Fusee and chain, barrel with top lip, set-up click under dial. Verge escapement. Train planted clockwise.
DIAL: White enamel on copper, edge gilt, counter enamel, three feet. Ladder minute ring, diamond shapes at quarters, thin radial Roman chapters. Winding hole at 4 o'clock with silver bush.
HANDS: Gold spade and poker
CASE: Four colour gold consular. The back is decorated with hunt trophies and a dog inside baroque surrounds. Inside stamped with the maker's mark 'PH' over 'M' under six-petal flower, Harrow, and other polished out mark and '6 (?) 248'. Scratched inside is '422-5g', 'y/sl/x' and '63', scratched on opening flat '407' and '69. 0/-/-'. Cylindrical pendant stem, top engraved with radial lines, bow plain with blob ends, top stamped with shell, on front. The bow is a replacement, red gold.
