Verge repeating watch in gold pair case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'P D Chevenix 690', same on cap. Balance cock with pierced and engraved table, polished steel end piece with diamond end stone, mask at neck, foot chased. Brass balance. Slide plate engraved, silver regulation dial with radial Roman figures I to VI. Pierced fusee iron post. Case bolt in brass edge with nib through dial. Potance with short foot, riveted to plate. Counter potance, with square foot, riveted to plate. Plain repeating barrel, screwed to plate, outside flattened at edge of plate. Pillar plate with four turned pillars, third pinion sink. Fusee and chain, tangent set-up under barrel, barrel with top lip. Contrate wheel between hour rack and repeating barrel. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise. Five pinion runners governed by depthing pinion, second wheel in sink. Runners planted anti-clockwise.

REPEATING WORK: 1/4 with chain repeating rack. All or nothing lever moved by hour can follower. Mechanism semi-polished. 1/2. 1/4 snail (a replacement), loose on cannon pinion, driven by spring into pinion.

BRASS EDGE: Plain with joint.

DIAL: White enamel on copper, ladder minute ring with diamond shaped quarter marks, and short radial Roman chapters. Counter enamel with painted 'W'. The dial is a replacement.

HANDS: Gold, polished spade and poker.

BELL: Scratched on the outside 'Drury' and '1.06.5'

CAP: Silver, oval table engraved as above, regulation crescent, winding pipe. Broad flat blued steel catch. Inside scratched '690' on table.

INNER CASE: Gold, pierced and engraved band, with scene at pendant, mask at 6 o'clock. The back with a group of flowers, engraved at centre. Pendant, fixed by three screws, stirrup bow. Inside 'HM London 1742'. Maker's mark script 'PE' letter in rectangle with sharp corners. Body with cut-out for pulse piece. Plain bezel.

OUTER CASE (A): Gold repousse with pierced panels, set with moss agate back and four side panels in body and bezel. Panels secured by silver. The slot for the pulse piece is not in line with the slot in the brass edge. Diamond push piece. Scratched on opening flat on body '1827 to xx', '267 UE UE', and on bezel flat '19/SP/Y/-'.
