Verge repeating in gold and enamel consular case

MOVEMENT: Ful plate movement engraved 'Lieutaud A PARIS No 593.' Balance bridge with pierced and engraved table incorporating in the design 'J', 'J' and 'L', polished steel coquette. Brass balance. Silver regulation dial with radial Arabic figures 1 to 6 and with 'A' and 'R' at ends. Plain fusee cock. Polished steel set-up ratchet and click. Plate engraved as above, also a repeating speed regulation scale with 'L' and 'V' at ends. Turned fusee iron post. Polished steel case bolt with nib in brass edge. Plain potance. Two polished steel gongs with common fixing block fixed to brass edge. Repeating spring end fixed to outside of barrel. Pillar plate with four plain turned pillars, centre wheel recessed. Under dial, third, fourth and escape wheels run in cocks, broken dial screw cock. Fusee and chain, set-up click on back plate, barrel with one lip. Cylinder escapement with brass escap. wheel. Train planted clockwise. Runners with five pinions, depthing pinion. Clockwise planted hour and quarters hammers. Runners planted anti-clockwise.

REPEATING MECHANISM: Quarter repeating work of polished steel. Hour rack mounted on pivoted all or nothing piece. Chain repeating rack and a pulley. Typical 'French' type mechanism.

BRASS EDGE: Secured by two large headed screws, gongs mounted outside movement, poorly fitting joint screwed to brass edge. Brass edge stamped '774' under dial.

DIAL: White enamel on copper, gilt edge, two feet. Ladder minute ring, gold 5 minute dots, two dots and lines at quarters. Vertical Arabic chapters. Winding hole at 2 o'clock.

HANDS: Gold with arrow-head heads.

CASE: Gold and enamel set with pearls and diamonds. Consular case. Bezel with ring of pearls around glass. Body with ribbed edge and pendant hold nib at 2 o'clock. Back with ring of peals, engine turned circle covered with blue translucent enamel, central filigree flower set with diamonds and pearls inside ring of pearls. No marks inside case. Pendant plain gold with Paris charge and discharge marks for 1809-1819. Small nib in side of the case to prevent the pendant being accidentally pressed in.
