Description

Cylinder watch in gold case with pearls and rubies.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved, on barrel bridge. 'Bautte & Moynier A GENEVE N33854'. Balance cock, pierced below regulator, regulator scale, 'A' and 'R' at ends. Engraved at neck, polished steel coquette, rounded ruby end stone, blued steel regulator. Gold balance. Circular barrel bridge with centre pivot. Third and fourth cock making a 'full plate' on larger spacer, in place of pillars. Front, recessed centre wheel, train cock, jewelled escap., polished steel coquette with sapphire end stone. Polished steel 'Geneva' type stop-work. Stamped under dial '33854'. Spacer plate, casing dia. holes and recessed for train, polished steel case bolt, nib under dial. Going barrel, 'Geneva' type stopwork under dial. Cylinder escapement, steel wheel. Train planted clockwise.

HANDS: Gold, long thin diamond pointer ends.

DIAL: Gold set with pearls. Four-colour gold outer decorations, dot minute ring with pearls set at 5 minutes. Radial Roman chapters of set pearls, four-colour gold central design, 'frosted' matt background. Dial fits over outside diameter of spacer plate. Winding hole at 3 o'clock. Scratched on back '33854'.

CASE: Gold set with pearls and rubies. Front opening case, bezel set with background of small pearls and ring of rubies. Body with background of smal pearls, outer ring of rubies, centre with curls of graduated pearls from centre large pearl, ring of six rubies. Inside stamped with maker's mark 'B&M' inside a diamond shape. Oval pendant set with small pearls, round ring set with pearls and rubies.

KEY (A): Gold, disk turnkey, both sides set with three rings of sized pearls, central set ruby.

BROOCH CARRIER (B): Gold, set with pearls and rubies. Outer ring of eight, projecting, ring of alternate pearls and rubies. Body set with alternate pearls and rubies, with small pearls between, back with two long wire loops, top one hinged.
