Description

Verge watch in gilt repousse pair case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Williamson London 16740' and dial inscribed 'WILLIAMSON' and 'LONDON'. Balance cock with table and foot pierced and engraved. Polished steel balance. Slide plate pierced and engraved, silver regulation dial with radial Arabic figures 1 to 6. Pierced fusee iron post, polished steel case bolt/spring with upright pierced foot. Potance with foot having moulding at end of foot, screwed to plate. Rectangular counter potance. Pillar plate with four square baluster pillars. Under dial stamped '1' and engraved '9' under minute wheel. Blued steel set-up click and wheel. Fusee and chain, barrel with one lip, set-up click under dial. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise.

BRASS EDGE: Gilt, brass, plain edge, three feet.

DIAL: White enamel on copper, counter enamel inscirbed with red '0', three feet. Radial Arabic 5 minute figures, ladder minute ring, radial Roman chapters, inner ring. Inscribed 'WILLIAMSON' in curve under XII and 'LONDON' in curve above VI.

HANDS: Blued steel, beetle and poker.

INNER CASE: Gilt brass, plain, inside body with maker's mark, incuse 'JA' with pellet between. Plain bezel, broken at hinge. Plain pendant with stirrup bow.

OUTER CASE (A): Gilt brass, cast? repousse of two classical figures beside vase full of flowers on plinth. Steel push piece with diamond set in end.
