Movement: Full plate movement signed 'Jasper Taylor 370 in Holbourn LONDON'. Balance cock with pierced and engraved table with large blued steel end piece with red faceted end stone, mask at neck, engraved foot. Brass balance. Engraved slide plate, silver regulator disc, radial Arabic figures 5 to 30. Pierced fusee iron post, polished steel case bolt and spring with vertical pierced foot, nib in brass edge. Potance, with moulding on end of foot, riveted to plate. Rectangular potance riveted to back plate. Pillar plate with four square baluster pillars. Under dial scratched with 'WW, JWd. 1819' and 'Mkjh 2/79'. Fusee and chain, tangent set-up under barrel, barrel with one lip. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise.
DIAL: White enamel on copper, four feet. Radial Arabic quarter figures, dotted minute ring, short radial Roman chapter.
BRASS EDGE: Gilt brass, three feet, hole over case bolt head, for nib.
HANDS: Gold beetle and poker.
INNER CASE: Silver gilt, inside with London HM 1744. Maker's mark incuse intalic (small angle) 'D A', scratch marks 'm & z' '1/50'. Filled hole in side of box, in line with case bolt.
OUTER CASE (A): Tortoise-shell covered outer case with gilt ring, brass pins near edge of body and centrally on bezel.
WATCH PAPER (B): White paper, in shield held by seated woman, 'John Bishop / Watch & Clock / Maker / SHERBOR', around top edge 'A Variety of Jewellery, Silver Plate & Gold Rings, both Mourning & Motto' and around bottom edge 'Engraving neatly Executed', on back in black ink 'Nov. 1832'
