Verge repeater watch in gold case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'DA Hubert 1670 LONDON' and 'DAVID HUBERT LONDON 1670' on table of movement cap. Balance cock with table symmtrically pierced and engraved, mask engraved at neck, foot engraved. Brass balance. Engraved slide plate, silver regulation dial with radial Arabic figures 1 to 6. Pierced fusee iron post. Potance and counter-potance riveted to plate. Repeating barrel, with side engraved, screwed to top plate. Polished steel rep. hammers, clockwise, head to tail. Pillar plate with five turned pillars, four baluster shaped and one plain. Third wheel and contrate pinion recessed into pillar plate. Under dial side scratched '2'. Fusee and chain, tangent set-up under barrel, barrel with one lip. Verge escapement. Train planted clockwise. Runners, five pinions, planted anti-clockwise, depthing pinion.

REPEATING MECHANISM: Stogden type 1/4 repeating work with chain repeating rack.

BRASS EDGE: Bayonet fixing to movement, wheat ear border engraved around edge. '70' and '13' scratched on back.

CAP: Engraved on oval table as above, semi-circular regulation hole with chamfered edge. Wide blued steel catch.

DIAL: White enamel on copper, three feet. Radial Arabic 5 minute figures, ladder minute ring, radial Roman chapters, inner ring.

HANDS: Blued steel, beetle and poker.

BELL: Scratched on back 'Drury Jno Dwerrihouse March 4 1778', 'Oct 1779', Feb 3 1786' and 'March 12 1783'.

INNER CASE: Gold, pierced and engraved band. '1670' engraved below pendant, plain band, then centre engraved with rosette. Inside stamped, in four positions, with maker's mark 'AR' conjoined. Also scratched 'B, C, lAm'. Pendant cylindrical with flat cheese end having applied rosette, gold stirrup bow. Plain bezel.

OUTER CASE (A): Covered with black shagreen decorated with rings of pins on bezel and edge of body. Monogram 'BC' in pins in centre of back.
