Description

A valentine of pink and silver cameo-embossed lace-paper of a design of arches and urns of flowers with doves and a central circular window displaying a real mirror. The arches to left and right display small rectangles of white coated paper with an unusual quatrefoil design in pink and green inks, bled into the paper. A pink paper scroll with gold lithographed detail and motto: ' A Souvenir' is affixed at lower left and a lilac paper rectangle with gold lithographed detail and verse: 'Accept this Tribute / of my unchanging / Friendship', is affixed at lower right. Inside, the circular mirror glass is framed with a flower garland of white and gold embossed paper. An initial 'M' is written in graphite on the album leaf below the valentine. The initial presumably indicates either from whom the card was received or to whom it was was sent.
