Shoki quelling a demon
Netsuke: kagamibuta, Shoki quelling a demon. Ivory bowl with metal disc and eyelet. Circular bowl, plain, with central himotoshi. The inner rim has traces of green staining from copper alloy. Shibuichi disc applied with Shoki, a bearded giant, quelling a demon. Shoki, in shakudo, has a wide-brimmed, tall hat, and is playing a flute with a scabbard (copper alloy) at his belt. Kin-takazogan flute, hat, ankle band and tip to scabbard. The beast-like demon is of copper alloy (brown) with yellow metal (gold) teeth, eyes, ankle, knee and wrist band challenging Shoki with a sword (?).
