Description

Netsuke: kagamibuta: three bats. Stag's horn (antler) bowl with metal disc and eyelet. Circular bowl carved with three bats amid cloud scrolls. It has a central circular himotoshi and five random holes; the sides are carved with ruyi heads and decorative patterns. The shibuichi disc cast in relief with additional chasing and decorated with two peony heads and leaves. The upper head, leaves and a bud are in shakudo, the lower peony head in sentoku (brown) reserved on a background of misty appearance, rogin.
