Tortoise-shell with miniature of a bird, bird's nest, urn and flowers in a wicker basket

Tortoise-shell set with a miniature in bodycolour on card, mounted under glass in gold. The circular box has slightly concave sides with gold rim mounts and a slightly domed pull-off lid. The circular miniature depicts a small bird (with Jay-like colouring) standing on a twig above a wicker basket of flowers, including roses, delphiniums, morning glory, iris and primulas, beside which is a carved urn with gilt mounts and a bird's nest containing four small eggs.
