Tortoise-shell with miniature of a rose and blue gentians in a cut glass vase
Tortoise-shell set with a miniature in bodycolour and watercolour on card, mounted under glass in gilt metal. The circular box has slightly convex sides and a slightly domed pull-off lid; the interior is lined with gilt metal and has gilt metal rim mounts. The oval miniature depicts a pink rose lying in front of a cut glass vase containing blue gentians and purple and yellow violas, standing on a marble slab.
