Lozenge-shaped dish. Hard paste, greyish, porcelain, painted underglaze in blue and overglaze in red enamel and gold. Lozenge shaped with shallow reverse fluted curved sides with a slightly everted and scalloped rim, standing on a low tapering footring. The rim is gilded. The inside is decorated round the edge with a border of toothed leaves reserved on a red and gold ground; the centre is painted with a sprig of three chestnuts and a gold fruit case. The outside has two symmetrical and two assymetrical scroll motifs in underglaze blue with novel flowers and leaves, carefully painted and three circles around the foot.
