Description

Soft-paste porcelain cream jug, decorated in blue underglaze, onglaze with flower sprays in polychrome enamels, and gilt.

Soft-paste porcelain cream jug, decorated in blue underglaze, in red, yellow, green, pink and purple onglaze enamels, and gilt. Pear-shaped with a sparrow beak spout and wedge-shaped footring; replacement loop handle. The sides are decorated with three sprays of coloured flowers among smaller scattered sprigs. The rim is banded in smudged underglaze-blue, and there is a simple loop border above the footring. The interior rim has a border of cell diaper in smudged underglaze-blue below a plain gilt band.
