Description

Soft-paste porcelain box and cover, painted with a genre scene in polychrome enamels, and gilt.

Soft-paste porcelain box and cover, painted in polychrome enamels, and gilt. The circular box is of waisted cylindrical shape, and has a slightly disheed screw-on flat cover. The sides are gilded with a neo-rococo scroll border on a green ground. The cover is painted with an hourglass on a marlbe table, garlanded with flowers, and a butterfly alighting on a peach.
