Description

Figure. Soft-paste porcelain containing bone ash, press-moulded, and painted over lead-glaze in a little blue, turquoise, green, yellow, flesh-pink, red, mauve, purple, and brown enamels, and gilt. The closed underside is concave and has a ventilation hole at the back. The low mound base has a tree stump at the back, a flower and two leaves on each side and two flowers and three leaves at the front. The boy stands on his left leg with the right relaxed and slightly behind him, his left hand on his hip and the right arm hanging down. He wears a red and white turban bound with gold, a mauve sleeveless coat with fur lining, a yellow coat with red and gold foliage in green-edged reserves and turquoise sleeves, purple and turquoise striped trousers and mauve boots.
