Description

Gold, enamel, ivory and hair. Gold hoop with the inscription reserved in black enamel: NICHS GRUNDY.OB:8 JULY.1779.Æ.32. The hoop broadens at the shoulders, decorated with black enamel. Long oval bezel with plain frame. Under glass, on ivory is an urn made of hair (glued) with gilt mounts, beneath a weeping willow.
