Renaissance, maiolica two-handled jar, painted in blue, yellow and red with palmettes, rosettes, lines, leaves and spirals.

Pale buff earthenware, tin-glazed on the exterior and interior; base unglazed. Painted in blue, yellow, and brownish-red.
Shape approximately 42. Ovoid with flat base; short cylindrical neck; and two small, broad, strap handles.
The body is decorated with palmettes and rosettes linked by pairs of fine curved lines, with small leaves and spirals in the background; above and below, are blue and yellow horizontal bands between narrower blue bands. The outer edge of each handle is blue with a trefoil outline at the top and bottom. Below one handle there is a mark in blue: 'L' or 'P(L)' with a small 'o'.
