Dish. Hard-paste porcelain, carved with anhua dragons and overpainted in two greens, turquoise, iron-red, aubergine, yellow, and black enhanced with gilding with a pheasant on rockwork.
Dish. Hard-paste porcelain painted in an enamel palette of two greens, turquoise, iron-red, aubergine, yellow, and black enhanced with gilding. The heavily potted, widely flared sides, with a lipped rim, are resting on a high foot of thick, wedge-shaped section. The interior is decorated in anhua technique with an overall design of a large four-clawed dragon shown full-face with one hand outstretched to grasp a 'flaming pearl' among scattered flame scrolls. The anhua design is overpainted with a large central medallion showing a pheasant perched on an outcrop of stacked rockwork flanked by flowering tree peony in iron-red and yellow and a prunus tree in blossom. It is encircled round the well by eight spirally-painted panels showing clusters of iron-red flowering branches growing behind pierced rockwork. Round the rim is a narrow border of detached flowering sprays interspersed with insects. The underside is also decorated in anhua with two dragons running in pursuit of 'pearls' beneath scattered sprays.
