Description

Soft-paste porcelain leaf dish, decorated with oriental flowers in puce enamels and gilt.

Soft-paste porcelain leaf dish, painted onglaze in puce enamels and gilt. The oval dish is moulded as two serrated overlapping leaves. It is painted with oriental flowers in puce 'camaieu', the rim with a border of trailing sprays interspersed with gilt florettes.

Note

The flowers are in the manner of the 'indianische Blumen' of Meissen, which in turn derive from Japanese Arita porcelain with kakeimon decoration.
