Soft-paste porcelain plate, decorated overglaze with flowers sprigs in polychrome enamels and gilt.
Soft-paste porcelain plate, decorated with pale turquoise ground colour, enamel-colours and gilding. Circular with shaped edge, narrow, gently sloping rim, and shallow well, standing on a footring. In the middle, there is a posy of flowers, surrounded by a side turquoise band edged by gilt scrolls. On the rim there are eight different floral sprigs, and on the outer edge, a band of toothed gilding. On the reverse, a flaw in the glaze next to the edge has been concealed by two long narrow leaves.
History note: Purchased by the donor at Quinneys, Budleigh Salterton, Devon, on 4th July 1978.
