Description

Soft-paste porcelain cup and saucer, painted overglaze with floral sprigs in green and black enamels and gilt.

Soft-paste porcelain, painted overglaze in green and black enamels, and gilt. The tea bowl has deep curved sides, and stands on a footring. The circular saucer has shallow curved sides and stands on a low footring. The interior of the cup is painted in green and black with a floral sprig and three small detached leaves. The exterior is decorated with four swags of foliage and flowers, including roses, and has a gold band round the footring, and a dentilated band encircling the interior and exterior of the rim. The saucer has six swags of foliage and flowers, four very small detached leaves, a gold band round the footring, and a dentilated band round the rim.
