Fritware coated in black slip, carved under a turquoise glaze
Fritware, wheel thrown, partially coated in a black slip, carved under a transparent, crazed turquoise glaze.
Shape: irregular carinated bowl with conical lower body and cylindrical neck with an everted rim. Sits on a foot ring.
Interior: on the body four black palmettes toped with finials are spaced at regular intervals, with an additional, smaller version at the centre of the base. Glaze pools in the base.
Exterior: On the neck a wide band of black is incised with script with fleurs de lys at regular intervals. Glaze runs terminates on the foot ring, where coverage is uneven.
