History note: John Barnard (Lugt 219) (also see Lugt 1419), sold 1798, 16 April and 25 following days, at Thomas Philipe, London. This impression was apparently sold on the twenty-first sale day, lot no. 340.

Production date: AD 1639
II/II. The face and hands were wiped clean before printing to suggest that this is an impression from the first state. Offset from same plate on verso.
