Production date: AD 1899 : Completed before 5 December 1899 and given to Katherine Bradley (1846-1914) on 8 December 1899.

Note

Ricketts' design for the pendant is in an album in the Department of Prints and Drawings of the British Museum, 198 a 43, 1962-8-9-2 (36). According to Diana Scarisbrick (Documentation 1982), the pendant was 'Designed to hang on the breast of Icarus in a painting, and was then given to Michael [Katherine Bradley 1846-1914)], who wore it on a thin gold chain.' It was completed before 5 December 1899 and was given to Miss Bradley on 8 December 1899.
