Bowl, porcelain, painted underglaze in blue and overglaze enamels with spays of flowering tree peony and prunus beside rockwork in a fenced garden.
Bowl. Hard-paste porcelain decorated in the Imari style. Painted underglaze in blue with iron-red enamel and gilding with the addition of turquoise-green, dark pink and black enamels. The steeply rounded sides resting on a high tapered foot. The exterior painted with sprays of flowering tree peony and prunus growing beside pierced rockwork in a fenced garden. The interior with a central sprig of peony within an iron-red trellis-diaper band reserved with four floral vignettes round the rim.
