Dusting-on process

Scope note

Photographic process in which the image is formed by dusting a pigment onto a surface of bichromated colloid that has been exposed through a transparency. Areas exposed to light lose their tackiness and hold less pigment. Generally for prints on glass or ceramic, where the pigment is fired as a glaze.
