Saltglazed-stoneware and steel; each knife with white saltglazed-stoneware handle and steel scimitar-shaped blade; the three tined fork with similar handle
Saltglazed-stoneware and steel; each knife has a saltglazed-stoneware pistol grip handle and steel scimitar-shaped blade. The all white handle is moulded in relief with a bird on a spray of prunus blossom. The broad steel ferrule has a scalloped border. The fork has three steel tines and a similar, but slightly smaller, handle to that of the knife.
History note: Cunliffe & Co. (Mr Hampden), 38 Hanbury Street; bought on 10 November 1917 for £3 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
