Note

Small tureens and boxes in the shape of bunches of asparagus were popular during the mid 18th century, and were also made in tin-glazed earthenware in Germany and France. They were products of a fashion for naturalistic tableware in the form of mammals, birds, fish, and vegetables.

The mark ITD stands for Jan Teunis Dextra who was proprietor of the Greek A Factory between 1757 and 1765. He also used the mark DEX and D.
